Students helping students - some of the best learning happens here!
Communication - It happens all the time seamlessly here at KCHS!
Weekly newsletters with everything that is important here at KCHS go out to the parents and students from the principal. Her form of communication? Email. Everything is available as an email including PDFs that are able to be manipulated and turned in electronically. Twitter, Facebook they are used as well but the "meat" of the topics are sent through these weekly communications. Below is a picture of what we see each week - parents, administration, even on the school website. It's all here!!
It starts with an email that contains a link that looks like this:
Then it becomes a PDF you download:
How do we conserve energy all together?
Motion sensors for the lights in the hallway.
KCHS uses energy efficient lights that are activated and deactivated by motion sensors. This allows the lights to save energy by only providing light where people require it and saving power where it is not being used.
Lights off...
Lights on!!
Here are the sensors - simple but they work!
Water Conservation from Motion sensors in all the bathrooms make a difference in water waste.
Responsible Printing - What does that mean?
All of our printing has the option of double sided printing. Students don't have access to printing without sending the info to a teacher which means there is less accidental printing and less paper is wasted!!
Power Saver Mode on Laptops is Standard.
All laptops regardless of staff or student are standard settings set by the technology department.
Holidays are GREAT! But how do you make sure everything is turned off? How do you not waste energy?
Before every break an email from the technology department goes out to remind folks to unplug their devices so no energy is wasted. We have even gotten them before a potential snow storm!!
